The Facts
Some families in Hawaii pay thousands of dollars to provide their children a quality education…they do it because it’
s an investment in their children’s future. At Kaiser High School, a world class education is being provided today in a public school setting. How? With the extra efforts of caring parents, and a dedicated group of teachers and administrators. But we all know it also takes money…more money than the state DOE provides. PTSA’s Cougar Pride campaign offers parents the opportunity to support their children’s education by helping to provide those extras that enhance the academic offerings of the school.
Last year through the Cougar Pride campaign, The Friends of Kaiser PTSA donated $35,300 to Kaiser High School. These funds made it possible for the school to establish a new wireless network that will soon enable every student, teacher and parent to log onto the Internet from anywhere on campus. PTSA funds also paid for efficient new printers for every classroom and the new digital bulletin boards that will be installed soon. The Need
Money from this year’s Cougar Pride campaign will be spent on three initiatives:
• Classroom Technology improvements (interactive white boards, mobile laptop labs, upgraded monitors etc.) • Academic Co-Curricular Activities Support (such as supplies and competition fees for robotics teams, math teams etc.) • Supplementing classroom supplies budget (DOE budget cuts have hit classroom supplies budgets especially hard in the past few years). Once again, we are asking parents for help to make Kaiser High School a better place for learning. Our goal for this fall’s Cougar Pride campaign is to have participation from 90% of Kaiser families. Please consider making a "Paw Parent" donation of $150. Whether you are able to give more or less, your donation is greatly appreciated and will have a positive impact on your child’s education. The Friends of Kaiser PTSA is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, and your donation is tax deductible. Please fill in the form on the back of the letter that has been mailed to your home and submit with your donation, or you may donate online. Cougar Pride is the only individual fund raising activity of your PTSA.
